Overview
Trundar are broad, heavy-built humanoids plated from crown to tail-stub in overlapping horn-armor, like a walking hillside. They stand a head taller than a human and twice as wide, move without hurry, and speak the same way. Their plate colors run from river-clay red to slate grey, weathering handsomely with age.
Racial Trait
Heavy Duty — The number you need to roll for a Power Roll is reduced by 1, and the number needed to roll a Power Roll against you is increased by 1.
History
The Trundar awoke in Indarica at the beginning of the world — their creation story, the Great Rumbling, tells of an earthquake of epic proportions that simply shook them awake from a deep slumber. During The Age of Colonization they spread between Taval and southern Indarica, and when the Croaklings migrated south in later ages, the Trundar made room without being asked, a fact Croaklings still mention when toasts are called for.
Culture
Trundar culture is built downward: the burrow-hall, dug and widened across generations, is the center of family life, with sun markets and fields above. Trundar prize patience, precision, and the kept word — a Trundar promise is proverbially binding for life, and their memory for obligations (in both directions) is total. They are not slow of mind, as strangers sometimes assume; they are simply unwilling to answer a question before it has finished being interesting.
Current Day
Most Trundar remain in Indarica, but Trundar masons, wall-builders, and dam-wrights are sought across the world, and a Trundar site-master is considered the gold standard on any great construction. Abroad, they cluster in small "hall-fellowships" that dig a proper common burrow within a year of arriving, whatever the local architecture thinks of it.
