Overview

Bruisers are the quick and dirty fighters of Ardelûn. Ever adaptable, they don't use weapons or armor, but raw strength and agility win them the fight.

The Bruiser needs no weapon and wears no armor: unarmed attacks cost 1 Action Point and deal 2d6 (2d8 at higher levels), your Weapon slot doubles as a second Active slot, and Strength is added to your Hit Score while unarmored. Everything turns on your Combat Stance, a d6 in front of you that Bruiser Ability Cards shift up and down, looping from 6 back to 1. Each stance changes how you fight. Alone among the classes the Bruiser has no subclasses; it gains a Class Trait at every level other classes would gain a subclass trait.

👊
Combat Stance
Place a d6 in front of you. It resets to 1 after a long rest and is shifted by the Bruiser Ability Cards you play, looping from 6 back to 1. Your current stance grants its benefit until you shift again.

Combat Stances

Your stance is whatever your d6 shows. Cards shift it; nothing else does.

1 — Neutral
No additional benefit.
2 — Counter
Your reactionary attacks deal double damage and have advantage on the Attack Roll.
3 — Iron
Resistance to Force and Sharp damage; you cannot be forcibly moved.
4 — Thunder
When you make an Unarmed Attack, all enemies within 15ft of the target take half that damage as well.
5 — Serpent
You inflict Power Roll effects on regular hits as well.
6 — Fury
You deal 1 extra damage dice on all Damage Rolls.
⬆️
Level 5 — Skirmisher Tactics
Your Neutral Stance becomes Skirmisher Stance: +15ft Speed and you do not trigger reactionary attacks.
