History

The Gnomes awoke in the hills of southern Im'ran Dorei at the beginning of the world and settled Lan'Korell and the northwestern lands of Indarica during The Age of Colonization. Gnomish history is a history of workshops: during The Age of Illumination, gnomish refiners developed most of the techniques still used to cut and grade crystals, and in around 1,200 DC the workshop-line of Alderquill pioneered skyship flight — arguably the most important invention since the crystals themselves were found.

Current Day

Gnomes typically function as the artificers and alchemists of society. Gnomish cogwrights, lens-grinders, and Spark-Line engineers are found wherever there is machinery, and the Patent Assembly of Lan'Korell still licenses every skyship keel laid in the world.
